Companies in the shale sector are very sensitive to the price of oil and gas. The WTI oil price is down from $104 BBL to $91 BBL in the last 3 months that is quite a significant drop, it will and has recently had an effect on sentiment in the sector, the miners are in the same boat with their products.

At $80 BBL a lot of shale projects would struggle to make money and many wouldn't start.

As nobody can predict what the price will be in the coming months investors get a little nervous at these prices.
