working class, middle class or upper class?
Not sure they are the right descriptions, but there are definitely 3 classes of people economically. There are those who are moving ahead increasing their wealth, there are those who are going backwards going broke, and those in the middle who are marking time. The average person in the world will produce exactly as much as he consumes.
But forget about individual circumstances, it is where your nation sits that is all important, and in the real world if you are not moving ahead, then you are going backwards.
