the market is saying that cnp's worth about $500m more than its debt. is this really the case? most of the recent buying is by traders and punters thinking its cheap. the fund money has sold out. Take a look at what MFS is selling its assets for in comparison to their book value? i know cnp is not the same, but can anyone here tell me what cnp will be left with after they sell these assets? the book value of this company and the real value of these assets is the true value to the shareholders.thats the difference.
The fact that they have bought forward another $1.5b in debt to current status means the company is under more pressure to sell assets to pay that back in a meaningful time frame. I am not saying the company is dead, but i am saying keep your eyes open. who knows what else will come out of this mess before we know all the facts. dyor.
