Anything that provides assistance to people buying homes just ends up increasing house prices.
It increases demand when we need to reduce it to.
That's the whole problem with grants, a tax deduction would have the same effect as people would have higher disposable income & could therefore borrow more.

Increase supply & cut demand, not increase supply & increase demand less.
