I don’t think many people want a socialist society ie bordering on communism but they want socialist policies such as pensions, social security and a level of fairness that govt can create with the tax system

Giving people tax breaks like negative gearing that the general public is essentially paying for that results in an unfair society is how you create an unhappy and unfair society

Nordic countries are all high taxing with strong social policies
