You miss the point… we once all had 3x1 houses and raised a family of 4 or 5 generally
Now we have have 4 or 5x2, nobody builds 3x1 anymore. We have all these boomers rattling around in houses with spare bedrooms who don’t want to sell as it may affect their pension meanwhile we have vacancy rates near all time lows
If you’ve got stats that prove otherwise I’d be interested to see them-
13 million spare bedrooms
AHURI, the Australian Housing and Urban Research Unit and the nation's pre-eminent urban research body stated late last year that there were 1 million under-occupied or unoccupied homes and a staggering 13 million spare bedrooms in Australia.
