    I agree with your post, kingrichard...:)

    I think there are a lot of things this government don't get. While it is Ms Gillard's and Mr Brown's choice to be childless, I agree that they don't have first hand experience on the huge pressures that are on day to day family life even and especially the pressures of juggling finances. Kids are expensive to raise these days.

    They think families will use less electricity which may be true to a point, however, families will still use the electricity they absolutely need, but will cut down in other areas to compensate.

    All sorts of other industries that do not supply absolute essential services will suffer. Retail, resturants, tourism, children's extra-curricular activities, are just some that come to mind. There would be many, many more.

    This "great big new tax" is more than likely to have a great big ripple effect.
