So December 2016 had 250-300mm in rainfall above average in the Karouni area. You can also see that the location of Aurora was not that badly affected.
When El Nino conditions return December will not only have not those additional rainfall but way less than average.
For comparison purposes: Guyana has ca. 2400mm rainfall per year which is 3-4 times as much has the "rainy" countries of Europe experience per year.
