with each passing month, the concerns evolve either into newer concerns or larger concerns

if we look back at the state of the last cap raise, we will (by rumour or not) note that Zip apparently went to the US for an investor roadshow with Wells Fargo.

Zip didn’t appear to attract any “US investors” and instead came back empty handed, except for the increased position from BoA (who are also bullish on affirm), who were rumoured to loan out their shares too, via raising the $400m funds through convertible notes (by Jarden and only offered to European, Asian and Australian investors, and not US).

the underlying risk has materially deteriorated, as has the market in which it operates. The macroeconomic conditions are worse and the register and sentiment is as weak as ever.

according to sources Larry went back to the US for 3 months and comes home empty handed, other than a browser plug in and probably overseeing the rebrand.

what will the next cap raise look like, who will entertain it (as history has shown it’s unlikely to be a US investor) and under what conditions?

if people are convinced in growth via acquisition, while having limited cash and a growing expense base and loss, then they obviously haven’t been in the markets long enough, as plenty of stocks have failed from expanding and extending themselves (and holders) too far.

Buying sezzle and the remaining zesty (India) may not be the best ideas in the current position and current conditions

all in my own opinion, dyor
