Water flowing uphill IS nonsense, vertical movement due to hydraulic pressure is not.
Water cannot "flow" uphill it must be under hydraulic pressure. Stating otherwise is simply incorrect.
If migration of contaminated water was possible, why has they not been any evidence of this since the boreholes were first drilled?
That said though, if scientific evidence is provided of the "potential" for this to occur (and I dare say there may be a very rare to low risk of this occurring), it is highly likely Strata would have to plug all boreholes prior to mining commencement.
It is an aspect worth following...in context.
