For those interested in takeovers, they should follow the takeover battle for GCL last year. The T/O started on 22 Dec 09 when MCC announced a bid for GCL. The battle ensued most of the year and did not finish until October with Noble emerging as the masjority shareholder. GCL is still trading today close to the final $12.60 offer price by Noble. (See the announcements page on the ASX website under GCL.)

So I wouldn't give up on an alternative offer just yet. It may take most of 2011 to pan out! DYOR.
