It seems the Chinese are losing some interest in REE sources absent uranium. The CCP has ramped into its Thousand Talents Plan, recruiting thousands of the world's top minds to work in China. It is known that one of the organizations recruits are assigned to is the Baotou National Rare Earths High-Tech Industrial Development Zone in the mountains of central China, a complex that is reportedly part of China’s nuclear program funding the green energy future of the country. Even Shenghe have now started up a joint company with China Nuclear for the processing of REE resources with uranium/thorium components. Such REE sources will undoubtfully gain a higher value in time once this ever increasing knowledge is gained on more effective separation utilising the by-product of uranium in a market looking set to boom.
