Why spend 30 years coupling up to China and now decouple?

Surely the great liberal governments over the years have had a plan to suit?

Isn’t it about time that Liberals grew up and got long pants and begin to think that just possibility- these things like running nations might actually need plans that go further than next week or next year and that the small government and little regulation idea is a dead and very smelly duck????
