decriminalise cannabis australia, page-72

As an employer in the construction industry we introduced drug testing in 2006 to comply with the H&S policies of our larger and most valued customers who conditions under which we must conform and who have the right to drug test our staff and do so.
The result has been staggering to say the least, with a small loss of staff initially, conditions and attitudes improved quickly.
We have not had a reportable accident since 2007 output is up and less personality conflicts within the firm.
With the pre-employment drug tests in place the quality of applicants has changed for the better as those who don't wish to comply don't get past the interview stage, but even with all the above we now have tradesmen currently working else where apply for a position to be in a better environment. All the supporters of cannabis usage cannot argue with the fact that the residual and collective properties of these drugs interferes with the users cognitive ability (in young people under 25 brain damage/growth is well documented) so the perceived waste of monies in control, be it legalised, or as current, would be small indeed as compared to the harm in society, no contest, and by the way at 61 yrs still playing jazz quitar I have seen enough.
    Cheers
    Robben
