I remember the same comments. Even remember gold at $250 per ounce in 2001! Dreadful days, but good for us now.

They would have already mined all the gold out of the ground of PNG in the 1990s leaving us with nothing if the price of gold was $800+ at the time.

We are very fortunate we own this excellent real estate. Lucky that Mr Macnab held on to it all these years!

Even our own Reserve Bank sold off billions of dollars of gold during the mid 1990s because of the same reasons you mention.
