As for - The whole world is a GLOBAL VILLAGE btw - I would say that there is a gradual movement towards a global commonwealth because we don't have any choice in the matter and will not survive in a fundamental way without doing so.
As for global village, the difficulty of entering certain countries, Trump talking about walls, the likes of Nth Korea, Russia, China and the Middle East, Briton voting on whether they stay in or leave the Euro zone, the visa system and complexity of world travel, the different national laws suggest, the extremes of wealth and poverty between nations, etc, suggests to me at least that we are many decades and perhaps centuries away from being a global village.
