Apologies, typo in my earlier post. Penstocks at Churchill Falls were 300 metres long, on a steep incline. We were taken down one of the shafts on a carriage, to see the drilling machines in action, as they prepared charge holes for blasting out the rock. All very impressive piece of civil engineering
