The current hateful spiteful nasty campaign being run by the Liberals over the boat arrivals includes the allegation that the people arriving by boat are criminals in that they are attempting to enter Australia illegally. The fact that around 90% of these people are found to be genuine refugees makes their journey totally legal and therefore raises the question of whether they should be taking action for defamation.
