I guess the investors may not have a choice in many cases whether they default or not.

Also, if TIM receives timberlots (security) when investors default, this does not help them with their debt with banks. More a question thana comment. They get back undeveloped plots of land which they could not sell to cover debt. More a question than an outright opinion.
