Does everyone agree that banning Amazon forest wood products is a good thing?

The EU banned the importation of Amazon wood as a measure to save the system but the reality was that the lumber was just a byproduct of making money and not the reason.

The importation of Amazon timber products is still banned, the forests are still getting cut down and the timber is being burnt because it takes up space that they want to use for their business model.

Another great idea that doesn’t work in reality, that puts more pressure on the environment and is counterproductive to both sides of the coin.

I understand why people think that the stick approach is the way to go but it’s the carrot approach that has the better results imo.

Plantation timber kills diversity, no ifs buts or maybes as it is the same as farming cattle in the Amazon.
    Both are monocultures!!!

    What’s the answer?

    Buggered if I know
