When the GFC happened all economies reacted to it .
There are so many things influencing world economics at present and I think we are more likely to be influenced by these global issues than by some apparent domestic cycle and these are the things I'm watching .
Things like how the brexit is handled and whether or not others look likely to exit the EU .
Whether or not the current US /China trade dispute is resolved .
Market strength / weakness in China .etc.
All these things impact ASX and gold price and I think trump all else and all have a fair amount of uncertainty attached to them at present .
So looking at past patterns , I'm sorry , doesn't do it for me today .
That's why a lot of people find it prudent to have some exposure to gold in some form .
