About a month ago VIL went from 0.006 to a high of 0.011 in one day. A percentage increase of about 80%, before fading down to close at 0.008. Then within a few days it was languishing at 0.006, for about 3 weeks until yesterday. Interestingly when it flew a month ago, it did so when the DOW was down about 300 for the night. Again this time around the DOW was down 300+ when it flew. The difference this time is, the news was seemingly a lot better this time around yet it didn't even get to 0.011. And like last time it is back down to 0.008 within a couple of days.
Are we seeing what we saw a month ago? Or do we blame the Greeks and Italians? Or is it the day traders? Any comments please?
