No you don't! Haha vango, can't be rid of me that easily. Thanks for sentiment tho.

No, I was expressing exasperation that even after 2 posts I still hadn't gotten my thrust across....being misconstrued. Lol.
Oh well, need to work on my comms mate.

Hope your ear is healing up alright sneaky.png

Good balanced post dezzy. Noting your particular experience, (including benefit of comparison), I don't believe the sub-continent to be unworkable either.

However the feeling with FLC for some time has been that we've been spreading ourselves too thinly globally, (that is to say pursuing business and a foothold / partnerships in areas of perceived slow growth, political barriers, cumbersome administrative processes n the like).

This was recently borne out with the re-strategising / structuring and moving on of Henry Charrabe, (Richard 'everyone's favorite' Irving and mine taking on the extra workload for now).

Pointedly though, I still see it as prudent policy to remain open to an approach from a New Delhi for example, with a specific, well detailed and researched (on their behalf) plan, seeking confirmation of FLC's interest. Maybe via a tender process, maybe not.

I strongly maintain my original point: considering and responding to a specific request to Tender is not pursuing business in the whole of India, (for now), and so it isn't reverting to the draining financial or human capital that we're currently minimising. Nor, I argue is it losing focus!

Rather, such a propostion (were we to win said one-off Tender), would I agree require 'borrowing resources from the office and field' in those areas we are focussed on, but weighed all up...as I said at the head of the thread, " ...why wouldn't we?"

If it took another five years before we went back into India or it's neighbours, in the meantime the project would have ticked over, proving itself time and time again to the region, all the while China and others in focus have made us as a company. (hypothectically cool.png )

As a long term (Emefcy) holder I've consistently voiced don't put all the eggs in too few baskets, keep some balance, as we've attempted to do.

But a region as vast and water needy as India...a request to deliver a single, significant project???? Without so much as setting up an Indian Office, appointing any staff to the area????? Some sacred cows cannot be looked in the mouth can they.

And I know we've pursued China since day dot, I know it's slowing paying its way, but I will forever keep a wary eye on business there because of the influence of the CCP. And so must FLC. Your comments therefore meet with my agreement - we must keep reasonably diverse, and ever nimble. (Just like our own portfolios)

    Happy daze ahead smile.png
