Good question, and worth noting - or asking the company for clarification.
I would say that risk is low due to the funding being secured, which allows the company to gradually increase production if required. They should be able to ramp up capacity quickly, though, for the simple fact that there's hundreds of thousands of tonnes of eligible biomass available.
I have little doubt that waste producers will want to supply to Delorean, given that their gate fees are much cheaper than landfill gate fees.
For example, Adelaide Waste & Recycling Centre lists a general waste disposal fee of $315 per tonne, which includes both the waste levy and operational costs.
Valuing Our Food Waste (2020–2025), developed by Green Industries SA, cites 200k tonnes of food waste going to landfill annually. That's food waste alone. Delorean can tap into more than just food waste.
