It's not irritation but justification. Without justification (verifiable evidence and testing) people may believe whatever they please, regardless of whether it contradicts other beliefs or is itself contradictory. What we may believe to be true isn't necessarily true. But if it gets you through life that much happier, that is nobodies business.
