If JK & Gang were so sure of their analysis of the discovery docs & them being the smoking gun that will shut down the ASX & ASIC, then the Demerger is completely unnecessary.

Ignoring the simple & logical argument above & assuming there are valid reasons for the demerger, If JK & Gang were so confident in the result of the vote, why would they take steps (allegedly) shortly before to reduce RED5 holdings to just below the 10% threshold to allow it to vote ? to me this stinks to high hell.

On all other points I agree with you, there is no clear logical business reason for the demerger. I can think of many non business reasons but I will not choose to speculate or engage in character assassination. There are far more logical & conventional solutions that could be proposed or tested, all of which involve JK putting his ego in check & doing what needs to be done in the best interest of company & shareholders. But it seems taking a scorched earth approach is more favourable.
