The ASX having no Market Makers MMs means it is open to more manipulation by those buying and selling rather than MMs holding stock and manipulating the stock price that way. MMs can also go short of stock or buy or sell to cover a closing trade open to them.
Aussie brokers can trade with two clients selling one stock to the other, banned in the USA with heavy fines. An anomaly which IMHO should be banned. in Aus.
Basically, Australia is usually best for small cap stocks with only one price and no widespread. However, MMs must give a price however low or high and it is possible to be stuck for weeks trying to sell very low priced stocks or those rarely traded on the ASX.
Red5 is in the middle somewhere and gains from ASX trading.
