But the Master did address the issue of capital punishment when the woman taken in adultery was brought before Him to be stoned. Jesus didn't condemn her but told her to go and sin no more, giving her space for repentance.

The Supreme Court was right to throw out the death penalty ruling on this case. If the jurors didn't already know God's position on capital punishment, then they obviously don't know the bible. And to use part of a verse to justify their verdict is misquoting the Word of God.

Regarding swearing on the bible, Jesus said to swear not at all, but let your communication be, yes, yes; no, no.
