Whilst I am opposed to the death penalty, in this case I am assuming that this was not a situation where one bro was trying to help the other out of a 20 k gambling debt.

Anything over 15 grams if convicted is the cut off point for the death penalty.

15 grams would have covered the 20k debt.

400 grams sounds like they wanted to turn a little profit on this venture over and above the debt.

This guy is a trafficker.
The cost of the heroin and his expenses to do the run would have covered the supposed debt.

I think a lot of people have been blind sided by these salient facts.
