If you were ever accused of wrongdoing or a crime, and those accusing you wanted you to come to court, but you weren't allowed your defence lawyers, you weren't allowed to call your own witnesses in your defence, the prosecution would be allowed to control whatever questions were asked and could stop you from testifying to certain questions. On top of that, the prosecutors held secret depositions and leaked to the media testimony taken out of context to prove your guilt, but withheld testimony from the same "witness" that in reality, was exculpatory and proved your innocence

Secret depositions, attended by Republicans who questioned the witnesses. Who themselves leaked plenty.
Have you noticed almost no Republicans have attempted to defend Trump's actions, rather attack the process.......... which is their own process.
