Which is why a Prima Biomed/Dendreon tie-up makes perfect sense. As stated previously, it would be wise to buy out your competitor (a business trait as old as Adam).
Then, 3 distinct options become available:
One: employ your competitor's technology to enhance your own.
Two: your competitor's technology may in fact supercede your own.
Three: mothball your competitor's technology.
In essence, kill the competition.
Examples: Internet Explorer vis-a-vis Netscape, VHS vis-a-vis Beta (despite Netscape/Beta actually being superior products).
