Yes, it could be climate engineering, chemtrails, Agenda 21, aardvarks with flatulence and all the other distractions and red herrings thrown across the trail at regular intervals. There's lots of reasons to do nothing.
But the economic logic in reducing carbon dioxide emissions based on the available scientific evidence is that if you're right, you have a raft of new tech and economic activity, a healthier planet and a better climate. If you're wrong, you have a raft of new tech and economic activity and a healthier planet, but your climate might still suck.
I'd settle for two out of three if I was wrong. It's still a win.
