A mate of mine who was born in Alexandria, Egypt, now 69, said he was brought up, and spent his teenage years around girls, and none were covered. He's now a non-practicing Muslim, and went back to Alexandria a couple of years ago, and he said that all women were covered.....he was amazed, and won't be going back.
He refers to the non English speaking Muslims as 'desert dwellers', and he believes that is where the problems start, as they are beholden to the influence of the Imams, and end up Centrelink customers, and then never have a need to learn English.
He went to a mosque open day, and told the Imam he no longer practises, and wasn't harassed for that. Even when he was a practicing Muslim, he always had a beer with me, and he home-brewed then....doesn't now.
Sadly, I think Islam has been hijacked by the dark side, with our help.
