Department of Human Services - Centrelink

Just listening to "insiders" on ABC and it appears that Liberals are likely to propose that many Centrelink functions should be outsourced in the upcoming budget and in particular the software systems will need a major upgrade. As old timers in this company know this was ICS's forte in the old Tim Murray (as then MD) got the company into strife by over extending in the US but his biggest issue was that the ICS software (THELMA) was designed to offer a service to Medicare but thyey wanted to do their own thing and Tim refused to sell the copyright of THELMA to Medicare (and consequently they did their own thing - at great cost & wasted time). It now seems that Australian government attitudes are changing; it this the opportunity the company is looking for? If so I hope they are getting their foot in the door now and/or tying up alliances with other players.
