I personally believe Livetiles and Microsoft have a mutually beneficial partnership at present. Karl responded to this in an interview posted in an earlier post.
I have have just finished reading hit refresh by satya Nadella, a must read for anyone invested in Livetiles wanting more of an understanding of the place collaborative partnerships have in Microsoft’s future growth
