The cancers and child deformaties found in Baghdad and southern Iraq are found in even greater percentages in the victims of Saddam's attack on Halabja in 1988 with his mustard/nerve gas mixture.
That mixture is carcinogenic and mutagenic. The US claims, from memory, that DU is not responsible for those illnesses.
Is it possible that the higher than past incidence of these diseases is more likely to be due to exposure to these gases, through drift and movement of the population around Iraq.
Halabja is not the only place in Iraq that these gases have been dropped. Think also of the possibility of contact in their manufacture and transport.
