I reckon this Papua and New Guinea scheme will deter asylum seekers who come by boat.
I can't see it won't. However I will be looking at if there are any illegal maritime arrivals closely
Last night 74 arrived here at 9 pm and were carted off somewhere at 3.45am
Not sure how many days it takes to get here. Does anyone know? But I'd say they started out long before Rudd's announcement. So I'd say it is too early to say if Labor's plan is a success or a failure.
