I think whats happening to gold stocks is due to vaccine hopes. However Biden taking on Yelen as Treasury secretary signals a big stimulus whcih will bring the dollar down and gold up. I think they need to stimulus anyway regardless of Yelen. And there will be some level of shutdown get this runaway train of covid cases under control anyway. So they will need a stimulus to support that.
