watso, I think there's so many drugs out there, it's not a one size fits all.
2 things to note:
1) Depression is an absolute mongrel to deal with and the chances of getting the correct medication are slimmish, as the only info the GP's have got to go on is how you're feeling, and you're in such a bad state that the info your provide is useless. There are things that can help, like exercise, eating well etc, etc, but for some, getting out of bed to do these things is impossible!
2) If the patient can hang around, things do turn for the better. You need someone to look after you, that's a must, and they must be very, very patient, and just accept what's going on.
