Not pointing the finger at any particular poster but this thread does show a lack of understanding of depression by some posters.

Whilst it is okay to have an opinion on shares and qualifying it by DYOR, it is dangerous to have an opinion on medical conditions including depression if you are not a professional in that area. The only advice I can give is be very supportive of those who you know suffer depression, encourage and insist on them seeing a medical professional. G.P's are much more aware these days of the need for more than just anti-depressants, including counselling, cognitive behavioural therapy etc etc.
