a long time ago 'depression' was then more commonly known as 'nostalgia', a more helpful terminolgy i suspect where the victim is acknowledged as a feeling human, and yet rightfully belonging as a nostalgic. more inclusive than dividing and separating.
so current language itself could alter the course of being depressed, these days usually ending in isolation as opposed to a summer jaunt to magic mountain.
