Mate they were on board because they know it' a part of doing business, especially with the big boys who don't want any competitive and strategic advantage they are trying to achieve to be known by their competitors. It's not rocket science and suggesting they could or should ignore the requirements of pretty much any commercial 'exploration' makes you sound like a demanding little teenager with no idea of how the real world works.
Sorry mate but that is just not how it works, you very clearly have no experience in the realities of commercial practices. We had almost zero chance of EV1 being interested in even looking at our tech without an NDA in place. And when you are the little guy you really don't get to demand the NDA is removed since it has implications on and potentially negates the competitive advantage Mercedes (and others) are trying to gain.
It is not 'coetowing' (sic), it is merely acknowledging the realities of commercial arrangements
