It's 11 yrs old now but this article should be read by every trader and given the intervening yrs, what is said about the American stock exchanges should be about the figures the ASX is on now. The bots pay a fixed amount and can trade as many times as they are able. The really scary bit is they are black boxes, their makers/controllers don't know why they do what they do, they just reap the rewards. Makes for an out of control, incomprehensible environment for regular traders.

In better news, it seems DB is spot on and EDE has hit the bottom and is beginning an upward SP trend. I thought the trading smelt like a bit of leaky ship buying, good news around the corner, but there is also the fact that a 13% rise in yearly sales, cost cutting/restructuring  sending cash at hand out to 5 quarters and lots of irons in the fire coupled with stabilising economic conditions is bringing some confidence back into EDE's long term viability. Or a quick flip but it's still pushing in the right direction.
