If I'm reading this right Victoria is going to have to rely on back up diesel generators for a considerable number of years as their is no capacity for coal or gas to provide extra electricity to the market. This shortfall may ease some time as the Govt intends to cover the shortfall with unreliable renewables However in the interim dirty diesel generators will be spewing amongst other things carbon MONOXIDE into the air. Surely there is a scientist out there who can demonstrate/prove that diesel generators are doing a lot more harm in generating power than clean gas would. A free hit to the state opposition I would have thought.
