The independents had 2 choices .. take a side or send us back to the polls. Or do you really think things would be working better with Abbott in an "alliance" with the Greens and Independents? I don't think so. Much of the disfunction in parliament is caused by Abbott's confrontational style and his one-line sloganism on the carbon tax (when his scheme would be a more direct tax on taxpayers) and refugees.
Seems to me that Oakeshot and Windsor both wanted a resolution to the years of debate on action on climate change ... so how could they have gone with Abbott? We need to get something in place, industry WILL adapt, and get over it ... IMHO.
