Justis,
I have read the entire document page by page, and I think it does the job very well.
It is telling us what the Liberals will try and achieve if they win government.
You cannot expect any opposition to be able to provide fully costed analysis, they don't have the army of treasury officials, rba briefings and the huge media arm that the government has at their disposal.
The fully costed and budgetted stamps are to let people know that's that they will commit their policies to.
We've also just witnessed the trashing of the budget surplus promise barely a month ago, so who knows what the real state of affairs will be when the election is called?
I like what I have read. I hope they win government, and I hope they can carry out what they have said they will.
Of course the glossy mag is a sales pitch - that's what they have to do if they want to convince people to vote for them. Everyone here has banged on about the Liberals not having any policies, and Abbott being Mr No and negative all the time.
Well we're now witnessing a big change, the Liberals are getting themselves ready for the election and I think this launch and document is a great start.
If I were a Labor supporter I would be getting very nervous now - your party is riven with internal dissent, everything the ALP does seems to turn to poop, and whenever the election is called the Liberals will be able to unleash a massive assualt of negative ads against the carbon tax lie, the failure of the mining tax, the failure to protect our borders, and the failure to keep the budget surplus pledge.
I don't believe the next election will be close at all - I think the ALP and Greens are going to lose in a landslide of historic proportions if Gillard and Abbott are the leaders that go head-to-head.
At the ballot box, there will be too many people sick and tired of the waste, lies and backflips that have occured with Labor over the last nearly 5 years, and will vote accordingly.
