"Deutsche upgraded Suncorp, under new chief executive Patrick Snowball, to a buy recommendation. Analyst James Coghill said that was due to an improvement in trading conditions for the Queensland bank, in line with the national economic recovery. "Suncorp has appeal on three main fronts -- there is transformation under a new chief executive, the bank has leverage to the improving economy and surplus capital generation," he said. "Conditions are clearly improving for Suncorp's stressed asset exposures and we feel the . . . risk has moderated sufficiently to argue a more positive case."
