Talk about BIG subsidies for miners, ACF tells us:
The biggest of these are the diesel fuel handouts to the miners – called the fuel tax credits scheme. This is a tax payer handout to big miners worth $2 billion per year.
Wot rot! The miners [they are NOT generators BTW] pay the road tax on all fuel deliveries. They then get it BACK when they PROVE that the diesel [not petrol] was used on the lease only. How on earth is this a subsidy?
Ethanol gets the same subsidy BTW. Cane farmers get rebated for the road tax too. And diesel is significant i/p cost for farmers.
