If one understands Asian culture and their longer view of wealth creation than the myopic west then history will prove this to be a decisive time in the commodity cycle. Read Kitco Metals headlines on any given day and see what the chinese are up to. Chinalco have bought a stake in RIO..they just announced investment of $2.6b in a Cu mine in Peru. Add to that all the previous stakes taken in the miners in WA by other chinese steel companies. Not to mention their rapid buying of assets in Africa. Remember all the buying the Russians have been doing of late as well.

The chinese have only just agreed to an 86.5% aver. oncrease in IO prices.

They are the ones using it...it's a fair bet that they know a bit more about what they might need than anyone else...particularly the US. They are so self-centred that the 98% of the population that don't have a passport probably don't even know where China is.

A cooling off of commodities prices or a brief pause might be justifiable but a train crash???

Remember this isn't a once in a lifetime event this is a ONCE IN THE HISTORY OF MANKIND event. Whenever in history did more than 50% of the world's population urbanise/industrialise at the same time..(CHINA/INDIA)....
