WA does not have high energy prices because they have always encouraged oil and gas exploration and development .
This has resulted in many discoveries , some developed and some waiting development.
In Vic and NSW they have banned onshore exploration and have delayed developments like Narrabri for over ten years which is an international disgrace. So they have gas but will not extract it to help drive down prices.
None of this is the fault of oil and gas companies. The blame can be entirely laid at the feet of east coast state Govts. They love to blame the Ukraine war , but if that was the case then gas would be expensive in WA , Canada , and the US but it is not.
